Not even for an M7.

I stay off of the MySpace/YouTube/etc sites because I have my own webspace and really don't care that much about exposure at the moment. I'm still learning with what I have and don't really need anything else, even if it is a very nice camera. I don't mind Chris's attitude online, really, as I've known a lot of people who were complete asses online who are completely personable in real life. Oh, and I swear, too. Sometimes the F word just gets the point across.

As to usability...yeah, that's kinda my thing. I'm not a fan of Flash-based websites. I'm not a fan of Java-based websites. Comes from my being on dialup for years.

I feel a little guilt trip coming on... So, if I win (at the expense of all others here, including you, my friend) will I enjoy using my new M7 knowing that so many more are struggling by with the gear they have?...

What a depressing subject for a first post... I thought it would be when I acquired my first rangefinder (my experience so far being limited to fondling my Dad's IIIa) but no, my first post comes at the moment I sold my soul to that greatest of evils, the social networking site.

So is it enough to have Weeks as a friend? The information on the site is slightly contradictory as regards entry. It talks about adding the M7 page as a 'friend' but also says that it is sufficient to have Weeks in your list. Which is it?

Also, where was that post about entries from outside the US? The official conditions still say 'US only' but I take it that's not actually the case.

Hi Matthew. Welcome to the forum. If you are from outside the US you have to ad Chris Weeks as a friend and you will have the same chance as the US members of getting the M7 and lens.

Thanks Erik, and yes, I live in Luxembourg. I really must get myself a RF sometime soon. Funds are low though, as I have a Pentax Limited on the way from B&H. Do they use the term LBA (lens buying addiction) here, or is it always GAS?

Fingers crossed for the M7, but I never win these things...

Yesterday Chris and I visited at the local Starbucks for about hour.

Perhaps the most interesting thing I found out in reference to the M7 giveaway is that Uber is still VERY much in Beta. Behind the scenes a dedicated staff is working out the kinks and making improvements. What about the various RFF comments about not liking an Uber whatever? It's like a treasure for the Uber site designers to get a new view for possible changes / improvements.

In case anyone wondered if Chris was giving away a worn out beaten up M7, not to worry. The M7 and 50/2.8 lens are fairly new and in nice shape. yep. worth having.

Then, I replied "no way, but I'm in for the chrome M7"
and "I'm gonna sell the whole thing to buy a 50mm Lux if I won".

Later I found out that Chris who left the message is the Chris Weeks... 😱😱😱😱😱
