Optical Lens? Has it been made for opticians? If so, they need their eyes tested.

You must be looking at a different picture. The one that loaded on my screen is gonna change medium format photography forever. I already withdrew $5000 and bought a roll of black tape for mine when it becomes available.
Black tape is on backorder at all of the local camera stores around here...

I am waiting for the video, a lone figure trudging through snow, his 120H on a tripod over his shoulder (it does have a tripod bush doesn't it? ...and weather sealing??) and a Jony Ive clone soundtrack communicating to us from the heart about the transformative experience of using this new camera. "I had to argue with the team, insisted in fact, that it must have a fully transparent optical lens."

It looks costly... like a good Leica should be.

The camera does exist! I obtained the prototype for testing about 6 years ago and still have it. It's so early there's no SN on it. I'd guessing the value, like most prototypes, would run in the $50-70K range. Any offers?
That is a beautiful camera. If Leica made it in the hammertone finish, it would be the most beautiful Leica ever.

2nd most beautiful. The Lenny Kravitz would be numero uno.

Some years ago copied a 'red dot' from some ad and the missus made up a gummed printed sheet of them for me. The diameter was a little too small, about the size of a dime and you had to cut them out by hand. I stuck them on several pedestrian cameras and a few plastic 35mm cameras along with several single use cameras.
Probably violated a copyright law but the Polizei never showed up* so I guess it was ok.
*Why would they, I live in the US.

DAG used to sell Leica dots, but I no longer see them on his site.

Thank you for being solicitous, but no, it didn't hurt.
It was only a bit uncomfortable to suppress the yawning.

i said uncomfortable. not painful.
well .. let's think this thing a little bit further.
what is planting snob attracting brand logo on a toy camera good for?
playing anti-snob?
now, this is such an obvious publicity stunt, and seen too many times to even raise an eyebrow. (quietly yawning again, and painless, too, thank you)
however, the idea of combining the dentist money outlet brand leica with the appeal of a working class plastic camera might still have something for it. i'm more thinking along the lines of providing the "correct" make up to a leica. there was this special edition Diana F+ (another snobbish brand, lomography) in cyan/yellow/magenta.
why not apply such a colouring schema on a leica MP? did anybody do so already? if so, how is the experience using it in public?
not being taken as a "serious" photographer has its good aspects ..
and now i return to my basement to have an unobserved laughing attack.
cheers,
