New members or salesmen??: Hot line is open, lets talk!!

Always those Dam beavers 🙂

Funny part is... when I see something forsale, I can almost predict who will jump on it.

Hey!

Whenever I see a good deal, I want to jump on it. Fingers tremble. Relief comes whenever someone else grabs it. The $75 Canon 50mm F1.8; The Canon 7s; $100 Canon 100mm F3.5, $30 Nikon M (Whoops, not here)

I wasn't too proud to have my name on this thread because of some misunderstanding regarding fresh RFF members and commercial activity.

This all changed as I read this thread thru tonite.

You USED to have it ? In my poor understanding of the English language that means "in former times " ? Doesn't count !
I mean in former times we ALL had a lot of nice things, less weight, more muscles, unreasonable expensive cars, two girlfriends at the same time, sandy sex at the beaches, a good job. And some of us surely had really big ... zooms too , no question.
But nowadays ?

Hope you are doing better, best wishes

Thanks Bertram, you have made my evening. your two last posts are incredible. I want to hang out with you and drink wine and talk about Kindergarten, cars, cameras, women, wine, beaches et al... You communicate very well, your images are excellent like your photographs. Language is never an issue for me. You made this a dynamic thread.

best, Jan

Consider yourself incredibly lucky then. 😛 Interestingly enough, language is always an issue with me; ask my French Ed. teacher (well, wasn't for over two years, but found a new job as that just recently) girlfriend (English native speaker) who is always frustrated by this literal nonnative English speaker (i.e. yours "truly"), who, actually, as Henry Higgins said (or sang, the jury is out) in "My Fair Lady" quoting his former pupil: "[his] English is too perfect, which clearly indicates that [he] is foreign". OK, mine English be not perfecto, but I know a broken rule when it has been, and then we get into pseudo Lewis Caroll dialogs (and I do remember the "yes dear, you were right I was wrong" Golden Rule, me no so dumbo elephanto)

Where was I? Ah yes. Language. Issue. Misunderstanding. Notice how a lot of that happens on the Net? Me blames bad English use. Perhapso Esperanto uso bettoro mako? Meo no knowso. 🙄

Anyway, what counts is that you feel better Jan; everybody, hopefully, for that matter. Nobody here is out to offend anybody; I would hope.

...As to Paypal, even though it is an eBay company, they may not need to sponsor Rangefinder Forum. As far as I know, anyone can use Paypal as long as they have an e-mail address and set-up a Paypal Account. I believe, but am not sure however that the seller would need to have the proper type of Paypal Account. Those of us that accept credit card sales for our businesses of course would not need such an account...

Rich, I think most of the RFFers use Paypal. I suggested that another service similar to paypal might be willing to sponsor this site. 🙂

Hey, this thread is really a DYNAMIC one !! 😀 😀

Starting with fake members who sell crap or do not send the payed stuff , then visiting certain backyards, going to Gin with garlic and soup made from really fat homegrown lady-chicken (!!) now we have arrived at the always interesting painter vs photog comparison ! Holy sh*t, what a ride !! 😀 😀 😀

Very entertaining tho. Let me add that photography has been equipment driven indeed, but only for amateurs. Pros, at least succesful pros do not spent most of their time discussing their tools. They take what they want or need , pay it and and use it. Basta !

The amateurs live in another world, in the world of playin' with toys. Big boys and their high precision toys, a combo that MUST lead to arguments and always LEADS to arguments !! Cars, bikes, knifes, pipes or wines, it does not matter.
And as if it wasn't bad enuff also status and and the "who-knows-all-better" thing are always in the background too and contribute to make discussions more "vivid".

One guy has got no clue but enuff money to buy the best of breed, he says that makes his pics top automatically, one has no money but knowledge and says he does not need to waste money ( he could not even if he wanted too) , one only buys the second best of breed but drives Porsche or BMW and mentions it to explain his limited budget, one collects expensive cameras as a substitute for his poor sexlife, one collects cheap cameras always mentioning he has a attractive wife and does not need tons of expensive stuff in the basement, and one has it all, money, knowledge, Porsche, and Viagra tho ( or because) he is married to a model and tells it everybody all the time..

Oh I forgot , there is another one , he is always supected to have nothing, no money, no top gear , no Porsche , no sexlife, no Viagra, no model, no outstanding knowledge either, simply nothing he could defend himself with !

That's the idiot who always wants to talk about photos and how to take them ! 😀
Aarrgh, what a stupid. He hasn't understood at all what amateur photography is ?
A dreamer ! 🙄 One of those simple minded who think they can change anything by voting !! Or that judges care for justice !? :bang:

Don't get me wrong folks, there is nothing bad with toys , ( I love my cameras) as long as the "boys" realize what it's all about and keep the discussions civilized while playing in the Kindergarten. And as long as they do not forget to shoot from time to time !! No ,not "testphotos", i mean that stuff that rocks !" 😀 😀

Bertram

Hmmm... good post, Bertram. I wonder which category I fall into? I just spent $2200 on appliances tonight. Does anyone have GAS for a new refrigerator? How about my old one? LOL (I would use smiley faces but Bertram used the limit in his post.)

And the moral of this story is?
a) When there are squirrels in the backyard it's time to hang on to your nuts. 😕
b) The beavers are always wetter on the other side of the property line 😕
😛 😀 😉
