I recently asked a question regarding Prominent to Leica adapters here to use the classic 1950's Nokton: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=159981
I did my homework and found that the fabled Mr. Miyazaki of MS-Optics offers Prominent to LTM adapters. They look like this:

I ordered one through Japanexposures.com, but instead of a Prominent to LTM mount, I received a Prominent to M mount that looks like this:

Sorry for the crude snapshots.
I first thought that this was what I ordered, with an LTM to M ring screwed to it. However, the ring won't seem to unscrew. Asking for explanations, Japanexposures answered:
" I am surprised because as far as I know there should not exist a Leica M version of this adapter, only LTM. "
When I showed them the above pictures, they followed with:
"Very odd indeed, looks like he changed the product without telling us and we didn't notice. "
So in case the community is interested, it seems that such an adapter now exists. Which sucks for me since I don't own an M camera. But maybe it's a sign. Maybe I should get that M3...

Thank you for the information.
For this adapter, does the lens face rotate during focusing?
Thank you.

Yes, it does.

I see.. thank you for the reply. Similar to the Kipon (prominent-ltm) adapter I have.
The original lens hood (310/47 or 310/49) is a rectangular hood and will rotate during focusing when such adapters are used.

Sure looks like this is the case. See if there is a set screw holding the ring or traces of loctite. If it's hard to apply enough torque to unscrew the ring, get a cheap chinese m-to-something adapter and clamp it in a vise to avoid damaging the good stuff.. Looks like it's even rangefinder coupled?

Well, the Prominent 50mm lenses (quite like the Zeiss Contax 50mm lenses) do not have a focusing mount (because their focusing is provided by the genuine cameras' bodies and rangefinder mechanisms) — but a pure focusing adapter without the addition of a rangefinder coupling would basically merely then make sense if you want to use the lenses in question only on a camera which lacks a rangefinder, I'd say …
