New on RFF with my 'new' Yashica GX

Hello, my name is Henk and a couple of weeks ago I bought a black Yashica Electro 35 GX. It is my first rangefinder (and in some way I hope it will remain my only rangefinder). Most people don't understand why one would buy a rf or even a film camera nowadays. So I'am very glad to be here with nice people who do understand me and I don't have to have the lonely feeling that I'm weird.

It is a nice camera to use and a it works fine, but I have to push the shutter release button a very long way: I start pushing, the overexposure light might go on, it goes out, the long exposure light might go on, it goes out, then the top of the button reaches the top of the surrounding shutter lock and I still have to push further and finally click... the picture is taken...but not 'the decisive moment' .

I have read here that for a GS(N) you can adjust it. Does this also count for the GX? I don't like to take a good camera apart. And I don't know how to take the top off from a GX. I see only one screw under the rewind knob.
Another solution might be to use a soft release as some people here do. In what way does it make releasing the shutter easier?
A third solution might be not complaining and just getting used to it.

It doesn't sound usual for both the lights to light up at different times... Something mught be wrong. And yes, juts by removing the top cover, you can adjust the length in which you depress the shutter release a little but i suggest using a soft release and getting used to it.
