Hello everyone. My name is William and I use a Contax G2 as my primary camera.

*I did upload a picture to my gallery*

I'm a newbie to a rangefinder, but enjoy it so far. I think the biggest surprise to me is how crisp and sharp the photographs are compared to the ones my Canon glass would produce.

I purchased an alien bees beginner package and will be setting up in a garage for some glamour shots.

I just wanted to say hello and I feel welcome around here.

I still have an SLR, but an old Minolta X700 with Kiron 105 2.8 glass.

I also use a Canon A35 F Nighter camera for street and cityscapes.

Thanks for having me and I hope to share more photos with you in the future.

Warm regards,
William

Welcome, and we will look forward to you posting some pictures here.

"Alien Bees" I just Googled. Okay, I want to see what that will do! Looks fancier than my OLD Honeywell studio flash. I may have been volunteered to do a Yearbook for my Daughter's very small school. I am thinking "lulu.com" and Nikon SP.

Hello William and welcome! :) There are other Contax owners here so I'm sure you'll meet them soon. Look forward to seeing some of your pictures!

William,
Welcome to the forum from another newcomer and Contax shooter. I look forward to seeing your pictures.

Welcome, William. Thanks, Rover for providing the link(been away for a week). William, I use a G2 for nearly all of my glamour work and have found that the 45/2 and 90/2.8 are perfect for nearly 100% of my needs. Practice on using the focus brackets, especially with the 90/2.8, and you will discover that the G2's focusing and CW metering is extremely accurate! I use hot lights, only because I've used them for years and am too lazy to change, but your "Bees" should work well for you. Email if I can be of any help.

You may wish you never offered your assistance;)
I plan on doing true garage glamour by setting up the Bee's in a friends garage. This will be my first time shooting in a studio setting. Everything has always been outside, so I'm very excited to do some portraits and other 'creative" shots. I think the 90mm will work perfect for this setting.I just need to teach myself the sekonic metering and i'll be set.
