New pic of Pentax FF DSLR

Yes nice price! And camera of course! Looks like Ricoh/Pentax is partnering with Tamron to get lens lineup grow faster.
They've done that before, I believe, it's not a new arrangement. The camera looks very good... as a dedicated Pentaxian I'm afraid it will come to my house at some point. Right now I see B&H offering pre-orders at full retail price. Maybe that will change in a few months.

I can see the hardcore Pentax fans going for it but realistically what does it offer over a used D810 or similar for someone shopping for a prosumer DSLR ... this is where it strikes a headwind!

It offers Pentax-labeled Tamron lenses. Instead of Tamron-labeled Tamron lenses. Way to go.

In camera image stabilization at FF. A _big_ deal when you can mount classic lenses - love it on my Sony a850.

i can at least dream at this msrp price range. and i have one of my favorite lenses of all time: k/m 50/1.4. oh, the potential joy of using this lens with a digital FF, in-camera stabilization ...

Now when Pentax have mated with Ricoh I can only dream Pentax DSLR could support AE for R/K-A lenses as back then I have got some instead of P/K-A. OK, in fact I don't have too many specifically R/K-A lenses, but 28/2.8 which is rebadged Pentax, sweet 50/1.4 (also could be Pentax, that one with prple coatings) and come-with-me 28-100/4 would be nice addition. Of course it's not worth buying into FF DSLR to use few old manual focus lenses.

I'd just like to say that you can get a 645Z and a K-1 plus a few lenses for each for LESS than the price of 1 Leica SL + it's variable aperture zoom. :)

Hell yes Pentax!

I am a big fan of Pentax. Love what they have done. Even though I do not own a DSLR, I think that they have a definite place in the mix. Specs and price look awesome. Good luck Pentax!

Anyone see any mention of a K-1 sensor-shake "dust reduction system" as on the K-3? It's even on the 645Z...

Interesting article about history of full frame Pentax, and why it was finally made: http://m.dpreview.com/opinion/4721880615/the-long-difficult-road-to-pentax-full-frame

company’s forthcoming full-frame DSLR was aimed at ‘our existing customers’. I.e. those new 645D/Z fans and a whole generation of DSLR photographers (especially in Asia) who love Pentax cameras for their features, pricing, and custom color options. Plus of course the ultra loyalists around the world who have stuck with the Pentax brand over the years and refused to switch systems

Good price, robust build, big, heavy...Pentax fans will love it, but certainly no threat to Canikon since there is no big AF lens system behind the body, the 15-30 is interesting but they'll need more than just that one fast zoom.

if fast zooms Pentax not only offers the f2.8 15-30 but also f2.8 24-70 and f2.8 70-200, that looks quite complete to me. There is also the budget 3.5-5.6 28-105 and the 4.5-5.6 150-450
as for primes some of the DA-F sold for digital APS-C cameras are said to cover the FF, also officially, those made for FF all had been made for film, incl. the small and famed limited, FA 31mm f/1.8, FA 43mm f/1.9 and FA 77mm f/1.8. I guess we will see some updated versions soon, hopefully also of wider lenses as e.g. FA 2/24 and 2/28
