Gotta admit, provenance of this bulk roll is unknown to me, I bought it in a bigger lot about a year ago. Could be it's been stored un-cold 😀 and in fact I'd say that's quite likely.

I guess it would allow for shooting the Summiluxes wide open in day time, but maybe I just ought to trade it against Tri-X. I know how to handle the Tri-X and have no specific knowledge of the Pan-X so I might actually waste some of it trying to figure it out while others can get it to sing from the first shot on...

Thanks Eric for the reply. I love looking at other peoples black and white photos, as there seems to be such a large variation in tones etc compared to colour.

I'm not much of a chemist so I'd like to find an "off the shelf" developer that may be better than D76.

HC-110 is a low fog developer, especially if you develop cooler than normal, I've been running some well expired Verichrome Pan 126 film in HC-110b at 64°F.
