Well, at last with the current price reduction I have an Epson R-D1.I purchased it from Robert White via e-bay at slightly less than their advertised price.Everything is perfect -I am amazed at the 1-1 finder, the focus just snaps in and is accurate with my 90mm F4 Elmar.I am very grateful to Sean Reid for his reviews and recomend Reid Reviews to all. Thanks to all the people who have posted here both positive and negative it has helped me to make a balanced decision. Now I have managed a first post I hope to join in future discussions and post some pics. One further positive for this camera,my partner hasnt noticed it yet -she thinks its my Bessa R2!!

Steve.

Have tried an attatchment I am sure someone will put me right if it is wrong.First pic

Here's another new user, courtesy of Robert White. I think I'm going to enjoy using this camera :D I really like the intimacy of a direct vision finder. Over the years I've acquired a useful selection of Leica lenses which will again be put to good use.

I've attached the very first picture made with this camera and 28mm Summicron. It was one of those windy stormy days when the evening sun peeked through a gap in the clouds for a few seconds, wonderful light.

Bob.

It really helps that the thing has an R body, with the whole significant other camera-noticing bit, doesn't it?

It's a shame mine is a photographer, too. She knows every time I pick up a new one.

Sigh!

Secretly coveting an R-D1 but lacking $4000 to spend on it,
