NIKON KIU
Did you say Nippon Kogaku
I would, not because I think I am buying, but because scammers are fun to play with.dexdog said:I would not bid on any of these auctions
Think about it,this guy thinks he is got bidders that will pay.
I know at the end he is gonna owe ebay listing fees and selling fees
Couldn't happen to a nicer guy!

I'm just getting back into rangefiners. These new Nikon cameras have been out for a couple years, right?
Is there a list of new lenses also, or did they just bring out a camera with one lens?
I guess my questions is... is this a camera or a whole system?

Individual cameras (S3 w/updated Olympic 50/1.4 & SP w/updated 35/1.8), not a system.

If someone does pay with Paypal and this is a scam, what's the most they will be able to recover?

Nikon didn't issue any extra lenses. Originals are available for reasonable prices (much cheaper than they would cost new). In addition, Cosina Voigtlaender a few years ago built several new lenses for the Nikon RF mount -- 21/4; 25/4; 28/3.5; 35/2.5; two or three 50s and an 85/3.5. All are excellent and not too expensive for the quailty.

this " seril 88 " guy does not give up.
Hi guys, another question from the new guy.
I read the posted translation about making the SP Reissue, found it very interesting.
So for between 1800-3000 I can find a new or newish S3 camera with a 50 1.4 that was built in 2000.
Or I can buy a user original and take my chances for less money.
If I want the SP which has a more intricate rangefinder viewing system I can get a new/newish one built in 2005 with the 35 1.8 and these are hard to find and in the $5000 range. Unless I want to get one from the bay with the "88" numbers which might be a scam/ripoff.
Again I could buy a old user for under $1000 and take my chances.
Here's my question... the SP viewfinder would be a great solution if you used a number of different lenses but if you only planned on shooting with a 35 or 50 would there be any addvantage to the SP.
The thing I find interesting about the S3 and the SP for that matter is there's no system, so once I spend my $2000ish I'm done.
Do I have this right or am I missing something obvious that has you guys laughing in the background.

yes and no, you can spend alot of time on that auction site looking and maybe buying 50 year old Nikkor glass or hankering for some of the new CV S lenses before the supply runs out.
remember, the Nikon RF cameras were and are a system camera.
if you can stick to say, a Leica M6 and a 50mm Summi, and not buy anything else, you will have achieved the same thing.
So the Nikon rf does not give that kind of protection from spending a lot of money on the system, your personal fortitude can only do that.

What would be good, yet reasonably priced, lenses for the other framelines on the S3-2000?

the CV Ultron 35/1.7 in S mount would be a worthy addition.

Well-known
The CV lenses seems like a good bargain to me at least. Take a look at cameraquest.
Pity that I like to shoot with a reasonable fast 35, the 35/1.8 sounds close to ideal to me. I often use a LTM 35/2 wide open. A little bit more speed would be nice, slower would be undesirable. The CV 35 is F2.5. This, the fact that I do not have an idea if the S3 finder would work for me and my glasses (cannot try any here) and that I really do not need another camera system is enough to resist GAS.. for now at least!
But, I have at least toyed with the idea of letting go of all M gear and just use an S3 2000 with 35 and 50 lenses, possibly a 25 or 28 as my 135 rig. On the other hand, the Hexar RF is just so useful..

if it is the dubious "seril 88 " SP you would wish to have the common sense to keep away and not bid.migtex said:an black SP 2005 NIB on oboys in 30 min...!!!??? Cant be! 230095575830 I just wish I had......

Kiu, I think you're going to win this one. I can't wait to hear the communication you'll have with the seller.

Eboy canceled the auction.
the Seril 88 SP guy will have to pay Eboy listing charges.
way to go Kiu !
