One problem might be that it's rather hard to google... there's a ton of legacy 50mm's being used on Nex bodies that come up, not to mention reviews for the Apha mount version. I'm not familiar with this particular reviewer... so take it with a grain of salt, he seems very excited over what appears to be a mediocre lens (although at $299, it's nothing compared to what most of us spend on glass, looks like it might be worth having if for nothing else but the AF and ability to use things like the built in pano and HDR settings)
It sure is ugly 🙁
Sony get's the award for most hideous camera design with this NEX business.
At least in my highly jaded opinion. I can't find a way to like the look of any of this kit...Blech!
All these samples look like the saturation and contrast is cranked up pretty high. Is that just my screen?
I actually don't mind the look of the Nex lenses... much better than the all plastic lenses coming from a lot of the competition. And while I'll drool over the looks of the new Fuji, the features Sony's packed into these amazingly small cameras is stunning. I do wish they'd make the lenses smaller though. I'd happily give up OSS if it meant a dramatic reduction in size. The size will probably be the only factor keeping me from picking one up.
Don't blame the lens - lenses can't do that. That is just the bad taste postprocessing typical of blog reviewers - most of these guys rose to fame with HDR...
