[New test photos released] Leica Summicron 35/2 Eight Element copy made in China

I picked up mine today from DHL. I got #214 in silver chrome finish. The lens looks and feels great. It's compact on my M10, but really dense/heavy when you pick it up. Can't wait to try it out.

My chrome one which I just received is serial # 245. I wonder if distribution of recent serial numbers not only is reflective of the lens finish (silver, black etc.) but of geographical regions they were sent to?

Anything with a 4 in it is not going to China!

The preponderance of orders is going to the US, as the largest contingent ordering, but this batch is going to those who ordered chronologically (allowing for different lens finishes)

someone rang our doorbell and DHL sent me an email that package has been delivered. cant wait to get home in about 60min and finally try the lens out!
Might sell my Goggled 35mm Summaron.

I just ordered mine!
Chrome, single coated, 8E FLINT.

I got in at the end of the cycle..
Probably #499..lol..

Good things come..to those who wait...

I'm excited about this lens!

Good some are getting their lenses..a few people per month that is..
Word is..there are safari and titanium models in the works too..
OK..
They have a hit on their hands..
Ver 1 Flint in chrome..well..thats old hat now..
Did they ever plan to fully complete those 500 for 500..?
Or the brass..
Place your bets folks..
I know where I'm placing mine..

I think I finally get where your its gonna take forever, they're never gonna finish the first batch, they're stringing us along type of comments come from, Emile.

FOMO !!! ahahahaha 😀

There's a while to go until we get to #499, but I do think we'll get there eventually. Hang in there, brother!

Some photos from yesterday's photo walk with the M2. All on original Fuji Acros 100 at 64, developed in the last dregs of my bottle of PMK Pyro. I wanted to get as wide open as possible for a few, but the light was still very good.

I focussed on the lock body - focus perfect at f2. Notice the spiders webs and the bokeh, which is decent.

Here the point of focus was the lettering on the crane at f2.8

A crop to about a quarter of a frame at f8

Don't recall the aperture, but Gerald was very happy to be photographed out on his walk with a carer!

Beautiful lens - I couldn't be happier.

It's a beautiful film, which I took a long time to love. Apart from the low speed to get the lens wide open, it is very high resolution, which has to be the test for me of a good lens. But it's £12 a roll to replace, so the next test roll is a £2.20 roll of Foma 200!
