[New test photos released] Leica Summicron 35/2 Eight Element copy made in China

Thanks Kevin for all the information. Any Elcan in the pipeline?

Sorry currently there is no plan for the Elcan. We did have a short discussion when the maker saw my Elcan 50mm f/2.0 post. I was not sure if the lens itself could attract enough attention after they start the project.

Kevin

Hey Kevin, sorry I did resubmitted the form by accident since you sent out the form. I changed the sending method (from SF to UPS/EMS- no SF service covering) and for the engraving is 8ELEMENTS too but the rest still the same (blackpaint single coat). Sorry about this 🙁

No worries. I've already deleted your first response. And I checked your second response is fine.

I love Thailand by the way. I visited Bangkok and Chiang Mai in 2014 with my girlfriend.

These pictures were taken with Leica Summilux-M 35mm f1.4 Asph + Leica M9 by the way. Not the replica 8-element. I don't want to confuse the people here.

Lot's of good memories.

The Hektor may have a following here.

Raid, are you mentioning the Hektor 73mm f1.9? I saw one sold for around $800. I guess you could find one at a reasonable price if you are patient enough. I more hope the maker could replicate those collectible lenses that are asking crazy prices right now. Just my personal thought. 🙂

I personally would LOVE to see the 35mm 1.4 AA, the double aspherical, as the next project after the Noctilux. With the 35AA, the 8 Elements replica and my Canon 35 1.5 i would complete my 35mm collection 😀

Good to the the good old M9 do well here.

Can they copy other items?

Can they copy other items?

This copy lens seems to creat lots of interest. I want to know if they can reproduce lenshood for Noctilux V1 (58mm Filter thread),like the original?

I've often wondered if the Noct 50mm f1.2 has a unique signature that's both unique and desirable apart for the Noct 50mm f1.0??

Two lenses that I'd love to see replicas for is the Leica 35mm Lux pre asph in both silver and black but equally desire the Konica 60mm f1.2 . Now there's a lens with a very unique look and exorbitant pricetag.

I agree, a replica of the 21 mm Super Angulon would be very cool. And so would one of the 28 Summaron without the price tag of the one Leica has made, but I suppose that would be asking for trouble. The option of ltm and modern coatings would be great, even if that's not strictly replica, but it's about the image for me.

It depends also on whether Leica still has a patent on that chosen lens or not. Very old lenses that Leica has not modified and then obtained new patents for should be kosher.

I went for my birth date, but as a Blade Runner movie fan I was considering choosing REPLICANT 🙂

I thought of using my name or my birthday, but I do not want any strangers in the street to see my name or birthday when using this lens. Maybe I worry to much here! 😀
