[New test photos released] Leica Summicron 35/2 Eight Element copy made in China

Thank you for these images, zaurus.

Both lenses look good here. I am going back and forth between A and B.

A few minutes later: I now think that the B images show slightly higher contrast, which should be the replica lens for B.

I would guess “B” is the replica. Seems to have slightly better contrast, likely due to being completely clean optically and possibly better coatings.

Are 1a and 1b really different images? I think the contrast may be different, but the negs seem the same??

All look nice but are kind of grainy to tell much beyond the contrast differences. I really like the 8 element Summicron but maybe I should sell mine before this lens knocks the value down to sane levels :-D

I think you will need to retry again.
It is Because every pair is independence, and it was random sequence.
You need consider of every pair, sample: 1B, 2A, 3A......

This makes sense. I saw A as being better looking in some of the early images.

Sorry, I have post same photo @pair 1, have updated it now.

The photo look like grainy because the film deveploer with my process method(I don't like smooth BW film result), doesn't the lens performance problem.

I filled in the order form on Dec 9th, so it feels like I have been waiting forewer 🙂
Is that lens really exist 🙂? Anybody in Europe or US managed to get to any other steps after filling in the order form?

An update on the IROOA lens hood replica project

An update on the IROOA lens hood replica project

The IROOA replica hood will start production very soon. We plan to take pre-order if people are interested in this accessory.

I am so sorry for the waiting. The first group of lenses is preparing to be shipped out to the world. So many things happened in the past few months. Therefore the schedule has been further delayed due to the unexpected incident happened.

Best,
Kevin

Is the order for the black hood separately placed from the black lens?

The technician told me that they would probably be able to mass-produce it in early June. For now, you will have to place the order separately. People who will receive the lens in June most likely could combine the lens hood in the shipment together.

I am figuring out what is the best way to do it.

No need to apologize, the circumstances are extraordinary. I was simply wondering if there were several waves of orders and maybe there is already a bunch of people in US/Europe who received the lens...

Kevin, I'm definitely interested in the replica hood too. It looks too good in black paint to pass up. Let us know when you figure out the ordering procedure.
Many thanks for keeping on top of this project. You are doing a wonderful job.
