New tight shutter release problem

I've had my M8 since last November. No problems what-so-ever, until now. My shutter release has stiffened up almost to the point of being stuck. I have to really make the effort to depress it. BTW there are less than 2K shots on the camera.
Question;
As this is my ONLY problem, should I keep shooting and hope it loosens up, or the dreaded, send it home?
I will appreciate all answers.

I have the same problem. it was never that smooth to begin with but now it is really sticky.

Oh well, I use my D700 and film M's a lot more now days anyway, so maybe I can part with the M8 for the 2-3 months it seems to take to fix them...

Due to the design, it is not inconceivable that there is some dirt lodged in there somewhere. I would try blowing it out with some compressed air before sending it in.
