New to Leica (with 35mm Summaron 2.8)

After more than a decade in the digital world, I've returned to my film roots, recently acquiring a used Leica and lens. I'm enjoying the more contemplative pace, far removed from the SLR and it's ability to shoot and buffer hundreds of images in mere seconds -- followed by hours of culling and editing.

Think about the shot, squeeze, click; when the roll is finished, wait for a few days to get it back, and in the meantime, start another roll.

Here are a few images from the first roll (Tri-X) that I had souped, scanned and printed by a local custom lab.

Thanks, Ko. Fe. I'm glad there's a local lab to support; film has become significantly more difficult to buy and process since I last partook (no surprise to the folks on this forum, I'm sure).

I picked up a black MP from KEH. Just got my second roll back from the lab, and I'm pleased (again) with the results. A high percentage of keepers have me loving the combo of that camera and the Summaron!

That little Summaron is one of my favorite Leica lenses, not to mention the black MP. I've got the same combo and both are just about perfect tools. Congrats!

My Summaron Goggles is simply wonderful.
The lens is superb in close ups and at max. aperture.
I prefer the look to my (stolen) 35mm Summicron Goggles.

I couldn't be more pleased with this lens, and the fact that it's more than 40 years old adds to my enjoyment.

Indeed, not too wild a comment to make to be honest. I have both presently and both are goggled versions. Honestly not sure which I would choose if I had to pick only one. Given the price difference, and the identical build quality, materials and glass etc....that's quite a statement in favour of the Summaron really when you think about it. It's a close call.
