Also I have a line on an original VT 25mm Viewfinder that was in the classifieds. Now I just need to find a nice 25mm lens at a decent price.
The Canon 25mm is a fine lens. Compact, light and, best of all, sharp, even wide-open. One of my favorites.

Well said, Jim.
I would definitely agree that the 25mm will sit beautifully with the VT. Here's a shot to give you an idea of proportions, although the body is actually a VI-T, but the dimensions are almost similar.

I believe the 25mm should be the most compact Canon LTM lens, if you don't consider the collapsible 50mm.
Cheers,

Hey Dan,
Is that black rubber band your shutter lock mechanism? Looks like a great idea!

Hey Benny,
Yes it is a Black Nylon Hair Tie. Fits very snugly with a "TomA Classic Softie" and works just great on both of my new Canons, as well as Leicas. If you use the generic softies, just wrap the hairtie around the base once, that will do it. Have not wasted a single frame through accidental exposure since I came up with this idea a few years ago.

Welcome to the club! I have a VT, VT de Luxe, Vi-T, and an L1. You have a great group of lenses (I want a 19mm f3.5) and may I suggest adding the 28f2.8...it is fantastic.
As for who to go to for a CLA, I send mine to DAG with great results. Enjoy!

Just ordered some more Canon RF goodies; a nice black late Canon 135mm F3.5 lens, the 100mm and 135mm Adjustable/Black & Chrome VT Viewfinders, and the original Hood for the 135mm F3.5. Should be here in a few days, according to the dealer. Can't wait.
Dan,
You are really going to love the viewfinders. The auto parallax correction function is great.
Looks like you've got a lens in every available focal length that Canon makes for the LTM except the 25, 28 and the 100. I'm sure it won't be long before I see you with them as well.

I will consider the Canon 28mm F2.8, as well.

Hey Guys,
Regarding using the VT, is it normal for the knob on top to free spin? According to the VIT instruction book i got online, it says to line up the black dots to make the manual film advance operational. Is there something I am missing here? Or do I have a disconnected film advance knob on top?
Thanks! -Dan

With the VIt, once you get the marks on top of the knob and shaft lined up, you pull up on the knob. The knob locks only in the raised position, otherwise it rotates freely. To lower the knob, press the button on the rear of the top plate just back of the knob.

Ah, Thank you for that! Just tried it, and all is good. What an odd arrangement.....

Here's My New 135mm F3.5 on VT.
Here's My New 135mm F3.5 on VT.
This just arrived from KEH today, a 135mm F3.5 in perfect condition, the original 135mm lenshood, and the 135mm Adjustable Auto Finder. Also in the package were two original Canon caps for the 135, and a black 100mm Finder, but with the distance scale in the back. I will keep it, until I find an Auto Adjustable 100mm finder. And cases for the finders, as well.
A beater Auto Adjustable 25mm finder is also on it's way to me, from the Orient. Well worth the $50 I spent on it. The glass is perfect but the front exterior has some scratches on it.

Also, where is the best place to send it for a CLA? The slow speeds below 1/8 need some help, although the faster speeds are said to be OK.
I've sent my P's to Mark Hama. He does a great job.

Mighty smart looking outfit with that complete 135mm set. I find that it's actually quite easy to use with the "Mg" finder.

Mine! Canon RF Accessory Coupler for my Canon 7.
The Holy Grail of Canon RF Accessories. Should have it in four to six weeks.
I want to use my 19mm and 25mm Canon Optical Finders on my Canon 7. This is the only way to do it.

There was another thread on this a few weeks back and Peter Kitchingman noted that the Canon Demi had a side-mounted flash and a corresponding small accessory shoe that, amazingly, will also fit on the Canon 7. Of course it wont be center-mounted, but they're cheaper than the Canon 7 version.

And Here's VT With my New Canon Trigger Winder.
And Here's VT With my New Canon Trigger Winder.
The screw-in Grip feels very good in the hand. I find I can wrap my hand around the grip, and still wind with the trigger, while follow-focusing with the same hand with the 135. This works way better than my old Voigtlander Bessa-T with it's trigger winder and grip. Very Nice horizontal or vertical.
I like it! Needs a new wrist strap, though. I have a Mr. Zhou Black Coachwhip that will work just great.
