New (to me) Leica M5

On my camera, the "outside" of the wheel on the back can move too, so the indicated shutterspeeds can be set in relation to the apertures.

Here are some pictures of the Zhou strap and case:

I got an M5 nths back and I love it. I use an old nikon nylon strap, it runs through the lugs just fine. I recently got an M6 and to be honest I dont know if I will be keeping it, I just much prefer the 5. The meter is great, the viewfinder wonderfull and the controls just work for me - and the larger size seems to fit in my hands better.

Enjoy and have fun with the big beastie!

Big Beastie?

I guess you're right, Gary. After all, to me, who started with M6TTL bodies, this one is almost unwieldy... but strangely seductive nonetheless...

Thanks, Gliderbee, for the photos of the strap. Again, I'll have to go to a store... or probably adapt one from what I have. Heck, I must examine those Domke straps before looking into Zhou's or even the Artisan type.

Frameline Upgrade

Frameline Upgrade

Just wondering if anyone knows the costs of upgrading the M5's framelines with that of the M4-P's.

Cheers!

Here's Mine.

Here's Mine.

I really like the "Domke Super Gripper" on M5, especially when -big- lenses, like the 85mm F1.5 Canon are mounted. Also recommend the Abrahammson Rapidgrip, although you will have to "shape" it some, with a fine smooth file to fit M5 properly. And the original Leitz-brand rubber eyecup from DAG, works great and no viewfinder cutoff with my eyeglasses.

M5 is cool.

I found a series of Domke strips in B&H, but I'll spring for one once the camera returns from its trip to Sherry's Camera Spa. I just shipped it today; it should be in NY by Monday or Tuesday, and I can expect Sherry's phone call or e-mail after Wednesday.

Let's see what she recommends...

Will keep you posted!
