Yeah, I still use film...
Hi!!
Just got a beautiful Minister D from epay. Seems to be in perfect shape other than light seals, dust, etc. I'll post some pix when I get it cleaned up. (It was in pieces on my workbench within minutes of opening the box...

I have a Minister III, the one with the selinium meter around the front lens element. Looks and works like new. Very sharp. Yashica really made some nice cameras!

"Flim? You want flim?"
This was the first camera I ever bought. All of my very old photos were taken with this, using Tri-X at that time. It vanished through the years so I bought one on ebay a year ago, but never tried it out. It's more of a keepsake for me. I loved it and got great results.

Don't own one, and it's not one I would have considered. However, after owning the Lynx 14 IC for a while, I might pick me up one... I really like how Yashica, of all the classic FLRF I like how the Minister and Lynx lay things out. They're "pure" cameras, no constraints...
1. All manual, no auto anything. Photograher controls everything.
2. Designed so that aperture and shutter are both equally accessible and controleable on the lens barrel without one favoring the other.
2a. On the Lynx, the shutter speed dial comes first, followed by the aperture dial. With practice, you can shoot aperture priority as easily as shutter priority. You can also grip both dials and turn them simultaneously easily to give you proper exposure at different shutter/aperture combos.
3. Flash synch at all speeds...
The Minister I would consider because it's (I'm pretty sure) the same set-up as the Lynx, with a smaller 1.7 lens and a top shutter speed of 1/1000 (the only classic FLRF with this top speed?) - good for shooting in bright sun with an extra aperture stop, instead of 1/500 on the Lynx and it's a little smaller/lighter than the top-heavy Lynx.

As far as I read English, you praise Lynx 5000 with it's f1.8 lens and 1/1000th top speed? I'm adding f22 aperture setting here, for fast film on sunny days.
Ministers have top 1/500th, and only Minister 700 has f1.7 lens - have seen it once on ebay, went for about 50..60 euros while Lynx 5000 is widely accessible and costs nothing.
In my mind Minister 700 is rare and expensive.

Russ, nice camera. Looking forward to seeing some shots now!
