Hello,
I got an Electro GSN yesterday and have already ruined 2 rolls of film.
I wound each roll too much at the end of the roll and tore the film out of the cartridge. Do I just need to monitor my frames and stop winding? Or have I wound it on too much when loading it?
Thanks,
Tom.

I suppose the obvious answer would be to wind on more gently/smoothly. If it stops/gets stiff , don't be tempted to finish the stroke - rewind the film.

It's well worth persevering with the camera despite your initial lack of success - the lens on these has a "special" quality.

Good luck

(BTW if it happens again, any decent camera shop/photolab should be able to "rescue" the film)

Just pay a bit more attention to the feel as you wind on. It's pretty evident when you reach the end. Once you feel the resistance, stop and rewind the film. Usually your last exposure will be only half there, but there's nothing you can do about it...

I just had a similar but sort of opposite problem with an old Voigtlander. I felt it reach the end, but then I realized I had no idea how to rewind the film... and knowing full well I should just put it down till I figured out how to release the film in order to rewind, I just had to force it back.

I'm lucky and its a testament to how well the camera was made, that something didn't snap it was so ugly hard to rewind.

The roll did get developed and has groove teeth scratches all along the bottom of each frame. Not that it matters much, since the whole roll was out of focus anyway.

Yep this is my plan.
I'll load it again this afternoon.
