So... over the past couple of months I've been re-acquiring my Leica kit... and I'm in pretty darn good shape now... I've got the field of view covered from 28mm to 135mm in small increments and two digital bodies. Abandoning my film days, though, I find that I have a good sized box of unexposed 35mm cassettes, both color and b&w that are just lying there staring at me. Granted, all of it is long expired now... some of it perhaps 10 years or more... but it's still there.

So, I've been looking at M4s... the M4-2 and M4-P and weighing how much I really "need" one vs. how much they really cost... and I just haven't been able to spend the money to do it. I really don't need one. But I've been looking...

And I checked all my usual on-line "haunts" and d*mned if I didn't find a nice user M3 single stroke this morning, with a Summarit 50mm AND a Sekonic L-308 for $650. It's not an M4, but I just couldn't pass it up. I'm really just buying it to play with anyway... I'll probably sell the Summarit as I really don't have much use for it, and I may or may not sell the L-308... but the lure of a (net) $250 body (+ or -) was just too great... so hopefully now I can start using up some of that huge pile of b&w film I have lying around. :D

Wow, if the body and lens are working that is an outstanding price just for the body by itself. I'd say snatch them up and if you decide not to keep them, resell to someone else to spread the love forward.

The M3 bodies I've been looking at that work and don't need work are $500-800 typically.

The meter, if it works, is just a nice bonus. A little photo gravy for your new old film happiness. :D
