Hi, I'm a new member of this site, I read a lot of threads before I buy my brand 'new" Yashica 35 GSN. This is my first rangefinder... before I allways worked with SLR and now a DSLR.

And here's my first picture made with him. It's very easy to use, easy to manage, easy to point and shoot,... I'm sure that this GSN will work a long time with me.
A portrait of my favourite model, on T-Max 400 scan with Coolscan IV ED.

Thanks for all you threads that were very useful for me.

Mika

PS : sorry for my bad english, school is too far for my brain now,...

Welcome, Mika! Quite an excellent start as a rangefinder introduction! Technical matters handled just fine... clearly a wide aperture leading to pleasant out-of-focus areas, giving the crisp subject (a cute one too!) a nice 3D effect. Well done! 🙂

Hi Mika,

welcome to the forum! Nice picture you've attached, the wide aperture really works wonderfully.

I'm also from Belgium and also used to work for years with SLR's until I bought a rangefinder (Hexar). Don't know why but I just don't seem to be using my SLR's anymore. I'm always shooting with the rangefinder... 🙂

I don't know if you've already found this site, but if not, it's really great for Yashica users: http://www.yashica-guy.com/

Hi Dirk,

Belgium 2 points ! Hi and thanks.
I knew yashica-guy thanks.

hi Mika.. you and I are very similar.. I had always used SLR and DSLR equipment until recently.. and my first rangefinder was also a GSN.. good choice, and great photo!

Welcome Mika,

It seems that the Belgian RFF club is rapidly expanding 🙂 It's a nice photograph with a nice rangefinder. 😉 You will enjoy RFF a lot and of course you'll learn even more.

Hi Joris from Belgium. Thnaks for welcome messages.

Another picture of my first attempt. A little bit overexposed in the foreground but, it's an attempt, sorry,...

What I appreciate the most is that's possible to work in available light and very dark situation like this one without using a flash,...

Welcome! Great shots of an adorable subject.

I also recently discovered rangefinders. The GSN is an excellent camera. Rangefinders seem to be very forgiving in low-light situations.

I know you'll enjoy the forum. And everyone is extremely helpful & supportive.

Welcome Mika. You are a very blessed photographer. Not only do you take very enjoyable pictures, but also your "favorite model" has the kind of face that cannot make a bad photo!

Enjoy the forum, and by the way...
"sorry for my bad english"
