Newbie Sayin Hi With Some Pics...

Welcome to our friendly RFF.
I like the shots from your Argus.
They reminded me to use my Argus again.

(with my Argus and XP2): it is modified to allow interchangeable lenses.

Hey thanks guys. I have been lucky enough to find some local spots to shoot that are within a couple miles from my house. I just took some snaps today at a old sugar plantation home, so i"ll post up after I finish the roll.
Raid, I really like that first shot. All the contrast seems to balance perfect. I need to order some B&W film. I have a bamboo forest in mind for a B&W shoot. I was hoping to get a wide angle lens before shooting there though.

My girlfriend wanted an Argus C3 for Christmas but I wasn't in the mood to hunt down a working one at a fair price so I got her an iPod instead. But seeing they actually produce some quality images. Maybe she'll get lucky on Valentines day.

Raid,

What model Argus is this, and what lenses has it been modified for ?

Regards,

Frank

Here's my favorite shot from the 3rd roll through the C3. I can't believe how macro looking it came out! Such an illusion because the mushroom is actually about a foot in diameter. This is close focus opened up all the way.

Wow, they grow 'em big on the islands! Nice results. Finding that point of closest focus, and keeping the subject in the frame is hard to do sometimes.

Welcome, great shots. The best part is, we all have a tour guide & a place to stay when we visit Hawaii. We will call first.

Please post some more.

I just picked up another "Brick". 1955 model this time. It wasn't working so I had to take it apart and get the shutter speed regulator working. The camera was basically free because it was a non working freebie that came along with a Sandmar wide angle lens. There was a step up adapter, a couple of hoods, and another standard coated lens in the package as well. Even a leather lens case!
I am half way through a roll of Kodak 100 right now after all the CLA so I'll post up my results when I'm done with the roll.
My plan is for some shots with the wide angle lens,(already done) then some with the standard coated with the 85C filter, and then finish off with the lens from the Matchmatic to compare.

Ok, here we go... Back to the old haunt for some shots with the 1955 Argus C3 equipped with the standard coated lens, 85C filter and lens hood.
