I ordered a few boxes of FP3000b and the expiration date says 2016-08.
I thought they stopped production in 2014? I bought plenty from B&H and the latest expiration date I saw was 2015-06. So I assumed that the length of time from production to expiration was about a year. Perhaps the 2016-08 batch is truly the last batch made, which would put the expiration date at around 2 years.
I was surprised to find this date. Has anyone else seen this film this fresh?

This is interesting. Maybe, they made new batches of film? Did you get the film from B&H?

Maybe they had to do an additional run due to demand? I know a lot of folks (like me) bought up a bunch of it when it was announced to be discontinued at the end of the year. It would be great if it was reinstated, and if retailers would stop price gouging it.

I bought it from Unique Photo which looks like the best deal on the web right now for it. Prices went from $18 in early December to $26 now. Adorama no longer carries it (they did a month ago). I'm hoping the prices will come down a bit because it shoot so much of it. But I'm thinking prices went up because the supplier is no more...

Something strange is afoot... I posted about this awhile ago and now the latest batch has a 2017 expiration...

That could be from "the last of the last" film stock distributed Spring 2014. That'd mean a 3 year shelf life.
There's a batch number next to the expiration date. Anyone know how to interpret it?

I thought 2016 would be the last of the last... Most film has a 1 year expiration date. Unsure where this got three years.

I have most of a box of 20 packs still, bought in 2014 shortly before the announcement. Expiration dates run from late 2014 to late 2015.

Well... it's really done by now. B&H no longer has it nor any major retailer. Only eBay and random sellers on Amazon who are asking egregious prices. I think I was waiting for some announcement that it was all a joke... but it's really gone. Gonna sit on my 15 packs of this stuff for awhile...

I saw it on the shelf at Samy's in Culver City/Los Angeles yesterday.
It was at the same time I noticed the Leica instax film is almost double the cost of the same Fuji labelled product.
