All shot with the Sony E 18-55 Zoom lens and no Flash and no PP.

Hmmm ... another good film shooter mesmerised by the 6400 ISO sirens and dashed on the digital rocks!

:D

I am actually very impressed. Whilst I normally like 'reasonable" speeds and a fast lens for low light I must admit that the recent innovations in high iso hardware are very, very impressive indeed and open up a whole range of photographic possibilities. I like the idea of being able to take shots in conditions that would otherwise be impossible without flash or other supplementary lighting and being a true Leica shooter enjoy shooting in natural light (even if through "unnatural" means :^) )

BTW there were actual purple lights on in the background, so these photos do not show any purple fringing. Would show 100% crops but do not know how to do this.
Try this:

they are very good iso 6400 images, the purple I was referring to wasn't fringing (CA), but the cast on the faces in image 2, but I now realize it could be wb or just purple lighting.

Amazing low noise for ISO 6400. Was just a couple of years ago that the D3 had that big ad for the motorcycle at 6400, and now we have this quality down at the consumer pricing level!

great stuff!

If they would just make one of these with classic camera controls, I'd be totally into it. As is, it just leaves me cold. The AF is fast and the high ISO is great... why ruin it by convoluted menus and wacky design choices?

You have a point but the new firmware at least allows you to customize all the buttons. When shooting a legacy lens like the Leica or CV in aperture preferred you are still using the lens barrel for aperture and focus. And then with one button for 7x focus assist you actually can focus more accurately then on a rangefinder and it works quickly or just hyper focus like the old days.

because Sony is such a goofy company that's why. :p

Excellent results a 6400, though.
