Nex 5 good for LTM lens?

Hi !
I use R-D1 for few year and absolutely satisfied with it.
Recently, I would like to try Nex 5 and Fuji XE-1 (still keeping my Epson).
I mostly use 28mm, 35mm and 50mm LTM on my R-D1, I wonder which (Nex or Fuji) is more suitable for the above focal length and LTM? If I use 19mm LTM (the Canon one), is it OK for both of them?

I love my 5n. That said, about the only interesting alternative would be the Fuji(s).

As a fellow R-D1 (s though) owner let me chip in with a parallel use. I recently gave away my Nex-3 to concentrate on m4/3 equipment, but prior to that I used it with "old" Contax G lenses (45mm and 90mm) and it worked quite well. I never got used to peaking though. I never felt that it was sharp when it was indicated sharp. Most likely a classic man machine interface problem. But just adjusting sharpness off the screen worked reasonably well. The menus of the Nex-series are horrible though. Never could remember where to find various settings, but later firmware upgrades allowed you to assign a fair amount of functions to buttons and dials so that you did not have to go into the menus too often. The auto-panorama stitching function is surprisingly good.

I bought a 5N and EVF a while back. If I was doing it today, I'd go X-E1 or NEX 6 because of the built in EVF.

I highly recommend using Hawk Peng's adapter. It lets you move the lens a little further away from the sensor for close focus, while maintaining infinity focus at its shortest position.

Completely agree 😀 As for the menus, I really need them once everything is setup. Everything in my Digital B&W link below is from the Nex 5n - all with Leica, VC & Zeiss glass.

I have three nex cameras and I use them professionally. My newest is the 5r with the EVF, which I chose instead of the 6 despite the fact that the price was very close (with the EVF) because the EVF for the 5n or 5r is articulated, and because I hate the "dummy" mode dial on the 6. The 5r gives you are really useful control dial. Both the 5n and 5r work beautifully with Leica lenses so long as you are not photographing fast moving action. I also have the 7, my least favorite. I use it mainly when I need the extra resolution. X-E1 goes not give you the articulated viewfinder and I believe is a bigger camera.

That articulated EVF is worth all the inconvenience it might ever bring. The only way I would prefer a built in one is if it were implemented in a similar manner to the new Panasonic m4/3 GX-7

My 19mm F3.5 Canon FL with Canon Adapter B, would not fit on my Nex 3's, due to the rear depth of the lens.

I have a Nex but I also picked up a Ricoh GXR with the M module, 90% of the time with either M or LTM lenses I use the Ricoh it just works better... That's my .02 comment.

Please note that people generally answer based on NEX-5N (or some newer models). While NEX-5N performs pretty nicely with wider LTM/M lenses, the original NEX-5 has some problems in the corners. I have no experience with the Canon 19mm lens.
