The high ISO tests and the horrible results from Leica mount wide angle lenses have sealed the fate of a NEX 7 purchase for me. I own an Leica M8 and am looking for a high ISO alternative for my M mount lenses for low light work only and I was hoping the NEX7 would be a good camera for this. The reviews are showing the Nex 5n is superior to the Nex 7 for Leica M lenses, especially wide angle lenses. I plan on using my Leica M8 for years to come for economic reasons, and the Nex 5n could fill my gap nicely for high ISO. When I shoot in brighter light, my M8 really shines and can be uprezed to match M9 output. With the NEX 5n I will be able to match any improvements coming in the M10 at a very resonable cost. The thing I like about the 5n is it is very small and can fit easy in a pocket compartment along with my M8. The lenses I want to use the most for really low light with the NEX 5n are my 50mm f1.0 Noctilux, 35mm f1.2 Nokton, and 40mm f1.4 Nokton. For wide shots with better high ISO in some situations, I would use the 15mm Super Wide Heliar. For all other shots, I will use the M8. I think this sounds like a sound and practical strategy that makes economic sense and will actually extend the I will get the electronic evf. For $30 or so I do see a nice LCD magnifier that screws into the tripod socket that looks like it would be fine in bright light. So what are all of your thoughts on this, and who has an M8 who is thinking about the 5n to extend the usefulness of M mount lenses and cameras?
