A couple of shots with the NEX-5N with the CV 15mm f/4.5 SW Color-Heliar lens (Fotodiox M to E adapter). Handheld, shot in RAW, converted with the Sony raw converter app, and then processed in LR3.4+SilverEfexPro2 for B&W conversion. Corners are a little soft with minor vignetting, but nothing that objectionable that couldn't be dealt with easily in PP.

Thank you. I like the image quality and some of the camera features that help with manual focusing, but the small size of the 5N camera body makes handling awkward.

I'm torn between this camera and the GXR with the M-A12. After I saw your shots, I had to restrain myself from running out and purchasing a NEX 5N!

I got tired of waiting for the M-A12 and picked up the NEX-5N for interim use. Still considering the M-A12 or the NEX-7 as final candidates.

The real problem...can You mount the 15 CV finder on it? Really, for me is a problem to frame on the rear screen of any kind of digital camera......

No, but there is an optional EVF that is exceptionally good if you prefer eye level viewing. Better yet, wait for the NEX 7 that has a built-in EVF.

Aha!, Stewart Park! Enjoying the blustery weather? You aren't the only Ithacan who is trying CV lenses on a 5n. I like it but have a 7 on order...you're right, it's very small.

Hi John, yes I do like the fall weather in Ithaca. I'm warming up to the 5N and also trying the GXR-M. Latter is also on the tiny side, mediocre EVF, but nice image quality w/o AA on the sensor. Also waiting for the NEX 7 and hope it is a winner so I can finally settle on THE small camera - too many cameras with excellent features - just not one with all the magic in the same box.
I guess it depends on your def of "very" but yes I can see a bit of magenta tinge on the upper right. The apparent magenta cast in the plants is actual color - not an artifact.
Yes, quite good and even more apparent in the Pentax K5 which shares the same sensor, but different processor.

The magenta edge, not "tinge", is visible in the sky, grass, and dirt path. My definition of "very", is that it is, the magenta cast on the edges, "visible".

'Very' is a relative term. I wouldn't use that word for this picture but yes, there's some visible, Quite curious that with uncoded lenses Leicas M8 and M9 have cyan corners and the NEX magentas. Also, the softness in the very edges of the frame ( see grass in lower left corner) aren't maybe related to the sensor but inherent to the Heliar 15. After all, even if it's a great lens for the price, this is not a Distagon 21/2.8 either. Do you remember the aperture used on that picture, scho ?

I agree and if I found the edge issues really disturbing (I don't in this case) then I would either crop (which I did with the second B&W image for composition) or use CornerFix. The aperture used was f/8 (1st) and f/11 (2nd).
