I purposely have not used any M mount lenses on my NEX-7 - as their value has increased, I've gotten leery of taking them out when shooting alone. That, plus I don't care for the crop factor that comes from using them on the APS sensor. Instead I've been using two different lens kits - a Sigma 19 and 30 (with a 60 to be added when it is released) for everyday shooting, and OM 24/28 and 50/1.8 when I want to shoot legacy MF.

However, of late I've gotten interested in the 50mm FOV for the first time in many years and am tempted to at least try my Cron 35 ASPH on the NEX. I think I have an M-NEX adapter around here somewhere, but before I tear the house apart looking for it - is this a viable lens on the NEX-7, or does it suffer from corner issues?

If it works well, I can always up my gear insurance. ;)

35 is usually narrow enough to avoid the corner issues. Certainly has not been a problem with any of my M-mount 35's (Canon LTM or VC).

The reason I even asked is because I've seen a few reports of problems with specific 35s - I want to say one of the Zeiss ones in particular.

ANECDOTALLY -- and I cannot strees that strongly enough -- some people have had problems with magenta casts in the corners and purple fringing when using the 35 Cron ASPH on a NEX7.

It may well be sample specific, so given that you have both that body and lens, you should try it out and see for yourself.
