NEX-7. Yeah baby, YEAH!

So, the external viewfinder is rumored to be $450. Which makes for easy choice pricewise - NEX-5N + finder = NEX-7. The only bummer will be if NEX-7 doesn't have articulated screen. I have grown to like it for TLR style candid shooting.

Don't know what people are drooling over. It's not like your pictures are going to get better with this camera then it was with any camera from 70 years back? It's just the same ol' rolling wheel. When are you all meant to be happy?
Do... not, feed...

Yes, looks like a render. I did see the "No" possition on the dial :) And it loks like the viewfinder is in the way, if it was to have an articulated screen.
Still, I do hope the camera will look somewhat like that, because that design is perfect (for me).

By the way, I also don't trust the button 8, looks a bit out of place, stolen off Nikon's Liveview/video record button.

Suppose they got it backward, should be on not no.

Looks like that NEX 7 LCD articulates

I've been following Sony DSLR/SLT/NEX rumors closely for over five years (embarrassingly enough,) and I'd bet confidently that these photos are legit. We'll see...

I can't wait to find out what Sony did to F this camera up... ;)

Exactly what I'm thinking too... No sony hate or anything but they always seem to start out with the right idea and then ruin it through bad interfaces or not finishing it properly.

Most of the online info prices this camera at over $1000 - AFAIK without lens, in excess of the X100 pricing, once the availability premium of the Fuji has receded.

Will be interesting to see how much the rumoured Zeiss 24/1.8 ends up costing.

Can't say I'd agree. The A900 was the best DSLR I've used, and, if I needed another DSLR, I'd probably buy it again.

Here it is. It is official. "The NEX-7 with kit lens costs $1350." Damn they better also sell a body only. Who needs another kit lens?

Yeah the a900 is nice - they did a good job with it, apart from the command dial skipping problems a lot of them seem to have. Although I get the feeling that camera is largely a result of the ex-konica/minolta engineers, not so much sony.

And I'm still not convinced re: the alpha mount lenses.

I don't find them to be particularly large, and certainly not 'huge.' They are larger than the equivalent micro 4/3 lenses but those lenses can be smaller since the m4/3 sensor is smaller.

Here is a comparison I just shot of the NEX 18-55mm kit vs the Panasonic 14-45mm kit.

Just wait till the end of this week - we're all going to get a schooling in how small a lens for m4/3 can really be....

Can you say... PANCAKE ZOOM!!!

It's for this reason that I'm starting to really truly think that the NEX system can't compete with the m4/3 system in size and ergonomics...
