Pretty tempting, even though it costs more than my Canon 40D. I may buy one as an alternative to the big SLR, which I purchased for a photo safari where I knew that I would need long lenses to get the shots. The NEX-7 would fit the bill for most other situations, and I have plenty of lenses to use with it.
This camera fixes my only real issue with the NEX-5, i.e., having to rely on the LCD to focus in bright light. I will wait for the reviews to come out., though.

So, $2199 for the body and 24/1.8.

On the contrary, this camera is going to divert many purchasers of many products, including Leica.
I would prefer it smaller, without the flash, but it's good enough.
Many will just buy the body only and use the glass they have, in which case it's cheaper than the x100.
In terms of what it can do there is no comparsion between the cameras.

I agree, and think that the NEX7 has more to offer than the X100, the greatest being interchangeabe lenses.

It is great we are getting more choice. Wish we had the M8-size sensor, but I presume this is APS-C, with a 1.5 crop? So I'd still need to buy new lenses...

The NEX 7 body combined with the close focusing M adapter...the end of M8 is near, not to mention the RD1, and it's good competition for M9.

Strong words, but not unjustified. If corner performance is as good as people are hoping, this camera should take a bite out of used DRF prices.

Very nice. I'm going to let others test this one and not be an early adopter. However, if it turns out to be a great camera, I would buy one as a high ISO camera for M lenses.

Come on... people don't use cameras with optical rangefinders because they wish they had an EVF. If you are immune to ergomonics, then maybe the NEX-7 seems to be a Leica killer. However, we all know the M8/M9 is in another league ergonomics / build wise.
