I don't care about the camera I want one of those green cakes! :D

How is the NEX from a usability point of view? A lot of the earlier criticisms seemed to be about the UI.

Hi,

nice pics! Nice quality too.

Can you send a picture of the combo camera plus lens? Also, from whom and where did you get the adapter?

Cheers,

JP

Thanks for the positive feedback, :)
Im using the rayqual adaptor, made a trip to the factory to buy it while on holiday.
I find the UI really easy to use... I haven't given it a second thought to be honest... the dpreview is a beat up.
When mounted with a manual lens I use shutter priority mode and use the live histogram and the screen quality for exposure.
The focus scale seems accurate in daily use.. haven't done any full on testing.

the combo looks pretty sweet. i wonder how compact and awesome it'll be with a 35/1.4 nokton or a 35mm summicron, real compact, 53mm equivalency and delivering great images. really happy with the possibility!

btw how is the low light performance using high iso? i usually use my r-d1 for low light color shots.

Shocking results for in camera jpeg as well. Looking forward to the NEXt form factor Sony may offer for this platform. The body is not anywhere near ideal IMHO. The results however are fantastic. Headed to town for some cake :)

You cant use aperture priority with a manual focus lens?

No, you can't set the aperture in the camera, so shutter priority becomes a manual mode. If you turn on auto iso the camera will then meter using iso adjustments with-in shutter priority mode. The camera seems to do a good job while shooting movies...

ISO3200 - 6400 look promising... waiting for Lightroom 3 support.

Some photos from a VC 35mm 2.5 Skopar

Wait, I think there is some confusion here. With manual lenses, you can use the NEX in A or M mode. S mode doesn't work, because the camera can't automatically change the aperture.
