Probably made for the Nikkor 50mm f1.4 lens in Leica screw mount, which came with Nicca cameras (Nippon Kogaku was the main lens supplier for Nicca cameras). The 43mm filters also fit the Yashinon 5cm f2.0 lens in leica screw mount, which Yashica made for their cameras after taking over Nicca. In fact, late Nicca filters were packaged in Yashica boxes, filter cases, or both.
