"Nice Camera!!!"

To the OP: I agree. There are plenty of good photos of consumer products. What's the point of BAD photos of consumer products?

Cheers,

R.

Come to think of it I've never seen a photo of a dictionary on any forum of a literary nature or even a verbal description of said book.

I don't use any online photo storage sites, so if I want to post photo of a camera in one of threads, I upload it into the gallery. Just to answer OP, not that I have any there now, and I love my gear.

The better question is "what is the purpose or need of posting of BAD pictures [of ANYTHING] into Gallery"?

Psssst... Hey Meester, look at my sexy little camera. Look at her beautiful little aperture and her beautiful little dials. She's a beautiful, no? :D

Several years ago there was a serious craze on RFF where people were taking pictures of their cameras next to cups of coffee.

I found this very odd and disturbing.

So simple is the answer - Pride, Joy and Attitude. Pride to have it, Joy to use and share the possession, Attitude ( not a scratch or a working horse).:) It shows the person.

I actually like the "Show us your ______" threads. Especially when it's a classic camera that I am thinking of buying. There are so many variations of Rolleiflexes it makes my head spin, and seeing the differences is nice.

The Camera and Coffee thread is really interesting to me not only for the cameras, but because the backgrounds in the pictures give a really interesting view into where various RFFers around the world get coffee or just hang out. One of the reasons I love this forum so much is seeing pieces of people's lives from all around the world.

I, and lot of other people, don't host their images anywhere else, so posting in the gallery is the best way to post your photos in such threads.
