Nice eBay Win!

Ken, I still intent to contact you to check out the Guitar Center in Aurora. There's also a place called Hix Brothers nearby. Thanks for your offer. It sounds like a fun way to spend an afternoon! :)

Francisco, I forgot to ask - which Ibanez did you get? My guitarist friend has one of their less expensive mini-Jumbos and loves it. Ibanez makes some very nice acoustics at all price points!

Black, with black-white-black scratchplate and a rosewood 'board. Best described as 'well-loved' and with 'wear commensurate with age'.

You have spotted my location, though, SepiaReverb?

Ken, I managed to snatch an Ibanez GA7. It seems it was discontinued and replaced by the GA5.

It's funny to think of guitars in terms of models that sound like alphanumeric codes... or digital camera identifiers!

Jamie, a hardtail Strat? Isn't that illegal, kinda like a Tele with humbuckers?
Leo Fender offered both hard tail and tremolo equiped models with his intro of the Stratocaster to the market place in 1954.

a Telecaster player like Roy Buchanan, who I was fortunate enough to photograph in 1981, would have prefered a hardtail strat , which is what he is playing in the photo.

I choose to think of it as a Strat that stays in tune

I did once consider rewiring the selector to give bridge & neck pickups to further pretend it was a funny-shaped telecaster!
