Nice leather bag, found one!

I've recently found this on eBay and used it for a few weeks now. It holds two cameras with lenses plus accessories in the pockets. It's made of lovely soft and thick leather.

I mentioned this in the 'why is there no perfect bag' thread and the thread died so don't know if anyone saw it and I wanted to show it off!!

Pretty sad, and I've recently had to admit to my friends that I'm a bag fiend. However I managed to 'out' another friend who also admitted a passing interest so we went bag shopping like a couple of ladies. I'm after shoes to match ;)

Slippery slope there....:p Ya gotta get a belt to match. Then, a new camera skin. A new half/full case. A new strap. A second body to match the first...and...and...well, that is why I won't let my wife change lipstick colors!:angel:
 
May I suggest that you rub it with some high quality (sans silicone) mink oil yearly to keep the leather soft and water resistant
 
I'd get that broken seam on the top right side fixed ASAP before you loose your precious cargo!
 
cool look, but i would worry about actually using it to tote around thousands of dollars in photo equipment. the connections, the flap, and the internal protection just wouldn't work for me. but--alas--that's why there are so many bags and we each need to find our own (one or two or ...).
 
Thanks guys. Yes I've rubbed it with a nice wax. Thanks. The seam looks loose but in fact it's very sturdy. Even though the strap is narrow it's really comfortable because it's so soft!

OT but why aren't my posted threads showing in my control panel!?

What's the net weight of the bag?

I like leather, but always got driven off by its weight.
 
Have you considered getting a partition insert with compartments? They're on ebay pretty cheap and would look a lot better and probably do a much better job at securing your camera equipment than the foam you have, especially if you have to make sudden movements. I got hit by a car with just a couple loose cameras in my bag with a sweater to divide them. I bet you could imagine the end result. I spent a bit of time adjusting viewfinders and repairing bent hoods and other things. I could just see a spill or jolt running the corners of those hoods right against the glass or viewfinders or something else equally frustrating.

Hi, yes I have a variety of those for slightly bigger bags but this is a bit small to fit one. I won't be taking this anywhere where I want to be stealthy or anywhere where I may bump or drop the bag. The bottom is quite well padded considering. Sorry to hear about your accident!

Not sure exactly but very little; certainly don't notice any extra weight over my canvas bags with inserts. That said I haven't worn it out for a whole day's shooting yet so time will tell.
