Nikkor 1.4 and Jupiter 8

Inspired by Raid's tests, I had a few frames left on the end of a roll.

Here are some test samples with the Nikkor 5cm 1.4 (standard RF version, not new "Olympic") and the Jupiter 8 5cm f/2 lens. Both tests at f/2 and at f/4. The full res files both have comparable sharpness.

Nikon S2. Shutter speeds at 1/50 for the F/2 and 1/15 for the f/4, with a flash popped to freeze any camera shake. 60-watt desk lamp to provide some flare. Both shots with the same lens hood. Only Photoshopping was to resize images.

Both look like they did quite well.

I'm getting a roll back from my S2 with the adjusted J12 and J8 this week. I have high hopes!

Yes, both lenses did quite well. Looking at the 4x6 prints, I can't see any discernable differences.

Here are a couple of closer crops to show sharpness. However, I haven't rescanned the negatives, so these are the straight 1-hour photo scans -- 1800 x 1200 resolution for the full frame.
