I work at a local photo lab here in my home town and Friday afternoon a customer came in selling a small Nikkor 35mm f/2.8. I decided to buy the lens as it looks pretty good, clean glass and the focus / aperture work well. A slight bit of haze internally, but I think it will shoot just fine.

Anyone use one of these lenses? I've never seen one before, but most reviews are glowing.

Yes!!! Are you kidding me?

Stunning result. I acquired a couple of those pre-AI 35s and I never had a chance to use them at the end. Both are like new.
I'll take one out and try it very soon...

I think it's actually the AI version. Looks clean though. I'll have to put a few rolls through it. I just nabbed an AI 105/2.5 from the local camera shop too!

35mm Nikkor f2.8

35mm Nikkor f2.8

I had about three of these before I found a 35mm f2.0, I'm sorry but I must have been out of luck because none of them could hold a candle to the f2.0. I bought my first one with my Nikon F in 1963 and never fell in love with it. I had two AIS versions that were only fair compared to the larger lens.

Best,
