This is a new to me lens I received from a friend recently. He said he hadn't used the kit he bought in Japan in 1958. I just received it last week end and am running a roll through my S2 this week. This lens is pristine and glass is perfect.
It functions and looks like it just came from Nikon.

Very cool Tony. I am getting into f/3.5 lenses. Some 3.5s have been my favorite lenses, even though I thought of them as 'economy' lenses. But I think they have an undeservedly bad reputation! Although I don't have any RF Nikkors, I have had and loved the 43-86 original Nikon zoom, my Rollei had a 75mm f/3.5 tessar, and now I am using a 21mm f/3.5 Zuiko. All of these had beautiful rendering that is etherial at small f-numbers,and got tack sharp stopped down a couple of clicks. I'm looking forward to seeing how your 'new' lens treats you.

Nikon S3, Nikkor 35mm 3.5 (late version #440xxx). TriX in FX 37 developer. Good lens - a bit soft at f3.5, but fine from f4 on. Light weight too in the later alloy version. The early brass ones are quite heavy.
