Maybe a long shot but does any one know if this lens will work on a full frame digital Leica?

Probably not, given its size which looks a bit on the small side for a Leica-mount lens with an aperture that large. It's also not an M mount lens - the flange on the back looks like an LTM adapter. Nikon did make lenses like these for oscilloscope use.

The thing is an LTM lens with an adapter, why wouldn't it work? Honest question.

The M39 (LTM) mount was probably used just because it was easy to manufacture, if it was for some sort of scientific usage. Also many of these crazy high-speed lenses are designed for high-magnification stuff, if I remember (covering 35mm at 1:1 maybe).
But if you have the lens in hand, why don't you just find out? Put it on a camera, or, just hold up some ground glass if you have it to see the image.
I bet it would fetch a high price on eBay just for the exoticness of it. Google it and I bet you'll find some obscure collector website with info. I've seen a lot of pages about Nikkor lenses like that, like the Ultra Micro-Nikkors, etc.

If you mount it on an M camera, make sure tha huge surround on the rear element does not foul the rangefinder arm. If you bend it you are in trouble.
