Does the lens on a new S3 2000 come with a lens hood included?

Yes. It's a fairly large metal clip-on hood.

Yes it does. It looks like an inverted funnel and reverses on the lens with the cap fitting on the back of the hood to protect the front element.

it is funny that B & H does not list a hood with that S3 2000 package.

If the boxes are unopened, new, then it comes with a camera, a lens, a hood, a front lens cap, a camera case and an instruction manual. NO REAR LENS CAP! I made one myself [following instructions on the Kiev Survival Site] out of the lid of one of the plastic canisters that every roll of Kodak film comes with. Black lids look a little more correct.

for that kind of money, Nikon should give you a rear lens cap for such a tour de force lens.
there is no one in China that does plastic injection moulding that can supply aftermarket rear caps for S Nikkors, Contax Zeiss, and Kiev rf glass?

Cosina Voigtländer makes rear caps for S-mount CV lenses, which should fit also Nikon S-mount and Contax C-mount lenses, if I'm correct.

CV rear caps are for the external-mount lenss - wide-angles, telephotos and the CV 50mm lens. The 5cm/50mm Nikon lenses, like Kiev and Contax Sonnar 50mm lenses, fit into the camera's internal mount. The lenses don't have a focus helical and intead use the camera's built-in focus helical. For that reason, the rear of the lens is quite small -- the size of a film canister lid.

Cosina, as far as I know, only makes rear caps for the Nikon external bayonet mount lenses in their stable, Both the of 50 Heliars are only sold with their respective cameras and do not have rear caps.
Try this listing for Contax 50mm rear caps; they work.

that is a beautiful lens and hood combo Dan.
NIKON KIU
Did you say Nippon Kogaku
I had the pleasure of using the above lens Dan displays....it's in South Korea now
,had to finance the 5cm 1.1
BTW the rear cap for the 5cm f1.4 doesn't work on the Olympic/Millenium as the latter is much deeper...I doubt if Nikon ever made a rear cap for this lens. Vince's solution may be the best.

The back end of my 1957 Kiev-mount Jupiter-8 50mm/2 is almost identical to the Olympic/Millenneum 50/1.4. If someone has a rear cap that fits the J-8, it will likely also fit the Olympic/Millenneum.
