After a year of searching, I recently found a clip-on hood for my black 8.5cm f2! The hood was on another lens, but I talked the shop manager into selling me the hood only. I have never seen a hood for sale on its own except for here (link). But you already found that source, right

I think that might be a replacement (more recent) lens cap, Mark. Does if have any patent numbers marked on the inside surface?

Mark, I just found this in Rotoloni's latest book regarding lens caps for the 5cm f1.1. The earlier type is on the right and the later type is on the left. I don't remember ever seeing a 48mm lens cap of the later type on a 8.5cm f2 lens, but as your photo proves, they do exist!

P.S. I highly recommend Rotoloni's book for anyone interested in Nikon rangefinder bodies and/or Nikkor rangefinder lenses. It really is an informative, and well illustrated book! The best there is on the subject in any language.

Also consider the 105mm F/2.5 Nikkor in C mount. I have one for my IIa and it is a super lens. It's ofen easier and cheaper to find the 105mm than the 85mm.
