Nikkor lens on Kiev?

Will Nikon RF lenses work properly on a Kiev body? In particular, I am interested in mounting a 50/1.4 or 85/2. Any focusing issues? Thanks.

Nikkor made lenses that focused correctly on Contax cameras. I believe these were designated "C" lenses. The Nikkor lenses made for the Nikon RFDR cameras have a slightly different focus close up and should only be used on Nikon RFDR cameras.

Just be sure you get a Nikkor "C" type RFDR lens and it should work just fine on the Kiev as the Kiev is the modern version of the pre-war Contax.

Thanks for the info. Is this the red "C" on the front ring... as in Nikkor P.C.? I thought that stood for "coated?" Or is there another place I would find the C?

There is an engraved black 'C' on the barrel of the Nikkor lenses made for Contax. The 5cm F1.4 will focus 1" too close at 36", either correct for this by focussing a little far. By F2 the DOF should cover the difference. The 3.5cm F2.5 is fine on either camera, DOF covers the error. The mode common Nikkors for 'C'ontax are the 8.5cm f2, 10.5cm F2.5, and 13.5cm F3.5.
