The 50mm viewfinder 
yep, along with the unique rear lens cap which housed the 50mm finder.

Where can I learn more about the missing VF? Why would you need a 50mm VF when (nearly?) every LTM camera has 50mm frame lines?

The lens is so big that it partially blocks the viewfinder. The same reason the Canon 50/0.95 was used with a viewfinder mounted on top of camera

ah nope, when produced in the 1950's almost no LTM camera had a 50mm frameline, about 99% didn't have framelines at that time.

ah nope, when produced in the 1950's almost no LTM camera had a 50mm frameline, about 99% didn't have framelines at that time.
