This is not an inexpensive lens, but it seems to worth its cost. It may be the "best bargain" for an under $1000 lens.

Many have wondered about the opical formula of this lens. I recently saw an x-ray of what appeard to be a sonnar formula lens. Has anyone taken a radiograph of the Millenium lens?

This is the closest we've got to an x-ray of the Millennium Nikkor. It's an x-ray of the original Olympic Nikkor taken from Dr. Kuno's Nikon Rangefinder book. Any guesses what the optical formula is???

About the formula: I wonder why any rangefinder book writer hasn't taken the lens apart or send it to some repair shop for that operation? Well, it might ruin one lens, but then we would maybe know the formula! 😉 Anyway, I'm not a volunteer to sacrifice my Mill. Nikkor... 🙂 Has any of us tried to ask the formula info directly from Nikon? They would certainly know it.

This is the Millennium 50/1.4 serial number thread, Kiu 😉

If you check out the S3 2000 serial number thread, you'll see that 200063 is listed! I think that's the one shown in the S3 2000 manual, but don't have a manual anymore so cannot confirm.
