I think quite a bit more were made. The factory records might be incomplete or inaccurate.
Maybe, but the numbers match the range suggested by the serial numbers that Rotoloni has collected over the years.

Lemonsha is more serious than a fart in church. I looked at an Oly 40/2 the last time I was there they had on consignment. It had a nice scratch across the rear element and they were completely stoic about the 55,000 yen price.

Zero, could you please post a large (1500 pixels wide) picture of my mother sitting on her couch with her dog? If the dog were looking up at her with an adoring expression, that would suffice. And make it f/3.5 please, as that is the best aperture.

There are three shots with the 85f1.5 Nikkor in LTM mount on our Flickr. Just put "Nikkor 85mm f1.5" in the tag box and they should pop up. Two are at f1.5 (hands on piano and small girl in the lap of mother) and the third one is stopped down to f4 (VW bug).
It was probably the best of the fast LTM's - but by todays standards - not that great. Heavy too. In the end I gave it to a good friend. It was also mint with correct hood and caps - and I tend to use stuff and depreciate it it quickly.

I mean seriously though, I could post a heap of shots that show a the character of nearly any lens I've shot. I can't tell anything from the two shots he posted, other than it's sharp at f/2.8, which I don't care about. I do appreciate him posting the shots none the less.

The owner of the lens sets the consignment price. Nothing Lemonsha can do about it.

I thought they might at least be willing to call the guy.
Calling up an owner to ask about a discount is waaaay above their PITA threshold. They don't even call the owner when an item sells. The owner has to check in with them to find out.
Anyway, they don't offer any warranty and don't accept returns because of problems the buyer didn't spot in the store, so unless you're sure you're getting a good deal I wouldn't recommend buying from them.
