Nikon addiction problem...

Look into my eye and tell me you don't love me 😀

Love Nikons, I have many, but all are SLR'S. This RF is a doozy, must resist, must resist.😱

Ah, this is the Nikon Appreciation Society 🙄

I never used a Nikon camera, so I can't comment on the handling part. But beautiful? Really? Do you guys really think Nikon cameras are "pleasing to the eye"? They look bulky and are full of humps. Not good looking at all. 😱
IMHO, of course.

A Nikon FM or FE is small (Leica territory), with very simple lines and extremely well-built, a really beautiful camera to own.

Another addict here...... i just counted and I have 9 Nikon 35mm cameras with all kinds of lenses. Jeeze this all started with a single Nikkormat in the 60's. I need to stay away from the new Df or risk a divorce.

There is something I find irresistable about old Nikon cameras. I have been shooting with Nikon since I first got started with photography, when I got a secondhand FE for a good price.

The old Nikon cameras are pleasing to the eye, and to the hands. There is a simple mechanical simplicity about them which appeals to me, and the large number of options and accessories appeals to the part of my nature which was formed by playing with tinker toys and linken logs. On top of all this, they also take great photos.

I like to shoot with all kinds of cameras, in different formats, and enjoy all of them. But Nikon seems to have the most appeal to me.

Since moving to Japan, where Nikon gear is as plentiful as trees, I have steadily acquired many of these cameras. Most are ugly and beat up, a few are so nice as to appear unused. Whenever I come across a nice (or not so nice) camera, I find it hard to pass it by. As a result, I have a couple shelves covered with these buggers.

Anyone else addicted to Nikons?

35/2.8 in the left foreground? These are sooo sweet, but they get little luvin'

I h ave finally pretty much stopped buying new Nikon bodies, having gotten four working F's, an FM10, an F3 and, against all better judgment, an F4, which of course has turned out to be utterly great. I actually passed up a working old F not too long ago, and recently passed up another F/FTn that was not working quite well enough. But so far it seems I cannot pass up a halfway passable Nikon lens bargain, even if I don't need it. Not too long ago I got an old 28/3.5 lens with a scratch on it, the sort that cannot be converted to AI, simply because it was cheap, even though it's my least favorite focal length and most of what it does is to sit on one of my spare F's. The addiction is dormant, but not conquered yet.

Okay, those seem nice, just like, say, a Minolta XD7 or an Olympus OM-1. These competitors also have simple lines and are well-built. However, the cameras in the pictures posted by Frontman and nobbylon are looking like the The Hunchback of the Notre-Dame - strictly imho of course

I have to admit, there is no denying, that Nikon S looks nice 😎

Nikon addiction is not a problem - space to keep them all is! This is an old shot - most of the F2's have been recycled, three F3's added to the stash. Some lenses added, a 58mm f1.4 from 1961 and my latest is the Zeiss ZF Macro Planar 50mm f2.0. So, after 50+years I have found a macro that is better than the Micro Nikkor 55mm f3.5.

Truly wide! Voigtlander Heliar 12mm f5.6 in Nikon F mount. Mirror up lens. Rather than dedicate a Rf - I simply removed the crappy mirror of a F and put the Voigtlander "prism" with the foot on it on top.
This is the new 12mm finder too - cop act and less prone to falling off or get "snagged" on straps.

What's funny is the later Nikon plastic lenses really make you appreciate the near Leica build quality of the older AI glass. Maybe the lenses aren't perfect optically but they sure feel nice to focus and use.
