Nikon addiction problem...

Started with an FM2n couple on months ago. Then with a couple of lenses acquisitions, there was a black and silver FE body attached to it...
It look like it was not enough because I just got last week a F2 photomic.

My recently reduced sleek ultra mobile new Nikon Army (F, F2, F3, FE, FM2n, FA, F100, D700, and taking the photo, D5100)

In the past I kept my Nikon addiction at bay, but sometimes impulses take over.
Picked up these two F's today.

Black paint F 651xxxx, unfortunately no black paint finder for it.
Nikon F and Photomic FTn.
And waist level finder with case and Nippon Kogaku cloth.
Just need to find a black paint prism finder.

The result of my addiction is:
3x F, one FM, 24mm 2.8, 35mm 2.0, 50mm 1.4 SC, 50mm f2 H, 50mm f2 HC, 50mm f2 S, 55mm 3.5 Micro, 85mm f1.8 H, 105mm 2.5 P, 200mm f4, and untold bits and pieces, Photomic finder for F, plain prism for F, DE-1 for F and future F2, FTn, waist level finder, Bellows focusing attachment w/ slide copying thingie, hot-shoe thingie. Can anyone turn me on to a good working F2 body w/o finder, man, I really need it!!!!!

OK I'll fess up:

2x F2A
2x Nikkormat FT2
FE2
3x FG
And AF bodies.

MF lenses:
Several 50's 1.4, 1.8, and f/2, AI, NAI.
20 f/4.
24, 28 f/2.8.
35 f/2.
55 f/3.5 and 2.8 macro.
105 2.5 in AI and NAI.
200 f/4.
Several Series E primes and 75-150 zoom.
80-200 zooms.
I also use these lenses on AF bodies and on Sony NEX.

AF lenses: Lots, but that's not the focus here.

I tell my wife, "Aren't you glad I don't collect cars?"

You call this addiction?

I got a picture coming....

One of the cameras I sold recently was a black FM3a, and now ask me, did I find myself hunting around for another one today on this here old Internet? Yes, I did. Til I slapped myself.

I also recently sold (I thought) a very nice chrome plain prism F and 50mm f/1.4 SC to go with it, but the guy never paid so I just put them up again today on that thieving auction site. Perhaps I'll list them here again as well.

Hi Vince,

Not wanting to rub salt in the wound, but i have to say that i'm really enjoying your former fm3a 😀

She's a beauty ! 😉

Absolutely agree. I still have 3 F3's, including an F3P and 20/2.8, 35/1.4, 85/1.8 (Converted to AI) and 200/f4 AI lenses. The F3 is what a Leica SLR should have been like, an SLR version of the M7. Best camera ever end of. The added bonus is that these lenses work really well with the D700 which is what I have to use for my day to day work even though its far from my personal preference Hard to believe how cheap F3's are now that they used to cost over 1,000 Quid when they were still a working photographers camera. Ive noticed that AI lenses have increased in price though. I do Hate the awful F3 motor drive though, its best used with manual wind on, just feels so right that nothing else comes close.

Yes easily the nicest MF Nikon. The F3 has the nicest feeling mechanics of any of the manual Nikons. Proven longevity and due to AE the fastest to use. I still like a nice serviced F2 but as a daily camera the F3 is very difficult to beat. It makes FM/FE series cameras feel like poor cousins.
Autofocus? nothing is nicer than an F5.
Both of these cameras were incredibly expensive when new, F3 was last available at near £1300 and the F5 at £2500. A decent F3 can be less than £100 and an F5 for £200-300. There is just no excuse not to be using them!
