Nikon AM-1 film cassette will work in Kiev/Contax?

Anyone knows if Nikon AM-1 cassettes (not just the spool) will work in Kiev/Contax cameras? I have a Zeiss Ikon brass cassette that work very well, so I am thinking of getting some more. The Nikon ones seem to have the same construction as the Zeiss. Would the Nikon ones open when I turn the camera back locks? Thanks.

You can look for Kiev cassetes from FSU sellers, they do work.

Thanks Eugene. I know Kiev cassettes will work, but I can get those AM-1s cheaper and they seem to be better made. Anyone???

Ouch. I still have that stereotype about FSU equipment being cheap.. funny how times change.

I have tested the AM-1 spool as a replacement for the take-up spool in a Contax IIIa. I will look at the AM-1 in it tonight.

The Nikon AM-1 opens and closes properly in my Contax IIIa. I suspect the Kiev has the same key in the back.
