Hmm, these videos are confusing. Maybe it isn't an advert for a new camera at all, but a murder mystery. In the first video we can clearly hear him cocking a shotgun and now in the second video he is looking for a place to bury the body.

My thoughts too. Third one is CSI cut scene where they just keep saying "ENHANCE."

+1 ... not a fan of the teaser style videos.
So what happens when you decide to buy one and head off to the friendly Nikon shop ... you'll probably find a guy standing behind the counter with his hands behind his back saying ... "Guess which hand it's in, no peeking now!" 😀

You will be disappointed. It probably is a retro looking camera that is either very expensive or less "pure" the you expect. If you're lucky it will be a Sony A900 with F-mount, but most likely it will be a Nikon D610 in a retro looking body.... :bang:

Seems that there is that usual infamous plastic grip, and what looked like a thin leather neck strap in the first video now turns out to be a casual large DSLR-styled nylon neckstrap.
Yet the lens is a MF one, sure.
The second video is poorly recorded IMO - the first one was way better.
Also : casual Fn and DOF black buttons panel on the grip side of the lens mount.
Nothing telling "retro-styled Nikon" for me there. 🙁
EDIT : just looked at the third video. Well ! Now I don't agree with what I myself wrote a few lines above any longer...
The grip looks to be small, quite resembling the "M-grip" US made accessory.
The camera design looks sleek and simple.
And the whole thing looks te be... small. With classic steel strap eyelets (all Nikons having those are "top of the line" cameras, so, not a "downgraded D610" for sure...
I captured an image from the third teaser, here it is. 😉 Would it be possible that it even had a removable finder ??? 😱 😉

The problem is this is Nikon. I still remember being super excited before the Nikon 1 release. Then I saw the camera!!

Someone above suggested a monochrome camera which it obviously won't be IMO but what an option for the future that could be?
Especially if it was less than a third of the price of the Leica!

Well, as much as people diss the 1... the V1 is actually a nice camera that will give good results. It has an EVF, a decent sensor, and it's small and fast.

So they're showing it with an AF lens, thought it was supposed to be Pure Photography, as in AIS.
Getting disappointed already.

This lens looks like an AF-D lens.
But is this the same lens? I don't think so. Except for the two DC lenses, I can't think of any AF-D lenses that have the chrome grab ring like the regular AI-S lenses.

I'll take it as long as the retro styling isn't too huge of a premium.
